Iam really happy for you guys who have passes plab2 and are in hogh spirits right now! Keep on enjoying this phase but also be a little bit prepared beforehand.
What do I mean? Yes, you should know that now starts a bit lengthy and a bit frustrating process till u reach the GMC office and get your registration. Some people who are lucky get this done in no time as they are already well prepared. I was not aware of many things whereby landed up in a delay.
No worries, I will try to cover all possible hurdles that might come in this procedure.
Firstly, enjoy for one day after your result and then the very next day get up and fill the online application for Registration. I know many wlquestions will arise as I had them a lot and no one to help.
( please ask any questions here on this platform to benefit everyone)
Once u have applied u will get a mail from GMC like this,
............Thank you for submitting your application.
What we will do next:
Check the information you have given in your application.
Contact you and let you know what other information you need to send to us. We aim to do this in the next five working days. We will not be able to give you a decision on whether your registration with a licence to practise has been granted at this point.
When you have sent us all the information we need, and we have checked it, we will give you a decision on your application.
If we decide to grant your application we will ask you to come for an identity and evidence check (unless we are satisfied that you have already completed one, for example before taking a PLAB Part 2 exam).
At peak times of the year (May to September) our Registration and Revalidation Directorate is extremely busy and it can take longer to assess applications and contact you.
What you need to do now:
While you are waiting to hear from us, please make sure you have gathered all the evidence asked for in the application information screens.
Keep your registered address and contact details up to date throughout the application process. We will use your registered address to send you important sensitive documents such as our decision. If you do not keep your contact details up to date you might not get this correspondence. You can change your address and contact details through your GMC Online account.
Continue to familiarise yourself with our core guidance Good medical practice.
Do nothing else until you hear from us.
What you should not do:
Please do not attend our offices with your evidence or post it to us unless we ask you to. This will not speed up our decision.
Do not undertake clinical duties not permitted by your current status on the register. You can check your status on our online register.

So then u have to wait and wait for 5 working days. Don't call them. Wait and u will definately get a reply as they have promised.
I got a mail on the 5th day.
........Dear Dr Sharma
We need you to post documents to us so we can process your application. We cannot process your application until you do this, so please do it as soon as possible.
What documents do I need to post?
We need a photocopy of every document listed below. To make sure you include everything, please print a copy of this email and tick each item as you enclose it.
[ ] Passport (we need a copy of the photo ID page and the page with your signature on it)
[ ] Primary medical qualification (this is the decorative certificate given to you at the time you initially qualified; it must confirm the exact date that you passed your final examination and met all of the requirements for the award of your degree, so if it does not you will need to send a letter from your university with this information)
[ ] English translation of the document above
[ ] Certificate of good standing from India
You can find out which medical authority to contact in our CGS contact database.
Your CGS is only valid for three months after the date it was issued. If your application is not complete by then, you will have to send another one.
[ ] Evidence of completion of an acceptable pattern of experience (you can find out which patterns of experience are acceptable and what evidence you need on our website.)
You must show you have satisfactorily completed either Foundation Year 1 in the UK or a period of clinical experience elsewhere that provides an acceptable foundation for future practice (sometimes known as an internship) as a fully registered and licensed medical practitioner. You can find more information on our website.
So that we are able to confirm the specialities of your rotations, please Download a blank Evidence of internship form.
Please post the documents to:

What happens next?
We cannot do anything until we have every document listed in this email. Once we receive them, we will assess your application.
If your application is successful, we will ask you to come to an identity check at one of our offices to complete the process. You must bring the original signed and stamped documents listed above when you attend for your identity check. Note we cannot accept photocopies, certified copies or notarised copies. Please do not visit our offices unless we invite you.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We will do our best to help.
Yours sincerely
Important thing to know guys is that you need your PASSPORT, PMQ (mbbs degree along with any translation), internship certificate and the certificate of good standing from your country.
Don't get confused here as u might get everything wrong if u send them something that they have not asked. Moreover, send them means speed post them or email then with scanned copies. What I did? I was more cautious so I did both, although many applicant just email them but my logic was that they mentioned their postal address in the mail, whereby anticipating a speedpost or courier from us.
Any ways, I did that and again waited for them to reply.
To my surprise I got the reply in 3 days and they asked me to come for an id check at their London or Manchester office.
Any questions guys please post here.
All the best
I have written this post because a bit earlier to help all those who are going to apply now as the results just came out.
Cheers!
